Tamara Popic is a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence. Her research focuses on welfare state, in particular health policy, from comparative perspective. She studies how expert ideas, institutions, party politics and public opinion shape healthcare policymaking across Europe.

Her most recent works include a co-edited volume "Health Politics in Europe: A Handbook" (Oxford University Press) and a monograph "Health Reforms in Post-Communist Eastern Europe: The Politics of Policy Learning" (Palgrave Macmillan), both forthcoming in 2021.
