Tanya Fitzgerald

Tanya Fitzgerald is Professor of Higher Education and Dean of the Graduate School of Education at the University of Western Australia. She has held leadership positions in universities in New Zealand, England, and Australia and Visiting Professor roles in Canada, Malaysia, and South Africa. Tanya’s research interests focus primarily on histories of women’s higher education, social change, and higher education policy and leadership. She has an extensive publications record including 14 books and 100+ book chapters and journal articles and is regularly invited to deliver keynote addresses. Tanya has co–edited three academic journals and is currently a co–editor of the Bloomsbury Academic series: Perspectives on Leadership in Higher Education. She is the Executive Editor of the Springer International Handbook: Historical Studies in Education. Tanya serves on a number of international editorial boards and is an active mentor, both nationally and internationally, of early career researchers. Tanya is internationally recognised as a leading interdisciplinary scholar in the history of education field.
