Tanya Ha is an influential environmental campaigner, science journalist, best-selling author, broadcaster and sustainability engagement consultant.

Tanya’s work currently focuses on science and environmental communication, and ‘mainstreaming’ sustainable behaviour change. She specialises in communicating science and/or sustainability-related messages through the media and marketing, and the development of community-based education and behaviour change programs. Her work is typically collaborative, involving stakeholders from multiple sectors, including government, research, non-profit, corporate and media.

Described as 'more hip than hippie', Tanya is best known for her television shows, including the SBS series Eco House Challenge and ABC's Catalyst, and her environmental guide books, including Greeniology, Green Stuff for Kids and The Australian Green Consumer Guide. Tanya was also the host and main reporter for the WIN Tasmania show Warm TV for which she won the United Nations Association of Australia's Media Award for Environmental Reporting.

Tanya has a background in the non-profit sector, including several years at Planet Ark where she managed in the development and implementation of programs including 'Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' and National Recycling Week. Tanya is a past board member of Keep Australia Beautiful. She is also an ambassador for the Australian Youth Climate Coalition, 1 Million Women, the WA Living Smart program and National Science Week.

Tanya has also been involved in the strategic development of state government sustainability policy, serving on the board of Sustainability Victoria for over six years, and the Sustainability Fund Advisory Panel. In 2008 she was a selected delegate to the Australia 2020 Summit in the Sustainability and Climate Change Stream.

Tanya has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Environment from the University of Melbourne, and is part of the teaching group for the Human Behaviour and Environment subject. She is currently an Associate with the Melbourne Sustainable Society Institute.
