Tarek Soliman

Dr. Soliman is an applied economist at Scotland's Rural College (SRUC) and the Scottish government’s centre of expertise on animal disease outbreaks (EPIC). He is also a fellow of the Scottish Environment, Food and Agriculture Research Institutes (SEFARI). His research has focused on the application of economic theory and analysis to problems of agricultural, environmental and natural resource management, in particular, biosecurity, climate change mitigation, sustainable land use planning, and water quality management. He has developed economic simulation models that assess the effects of proposed interventions to inform policy development. Dr. Soliman has worked extensively with government and non-government stakeholders in the UK, Europe, Southeast Asia, and New Zealand.
