Dr. Tariq Ali is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Center for Chinese Agricultural Policy at Chinese Academy of Science and a Visiting Research Fellow at the China Center for Agricultural Policy, Peking University.
Dr. Ali’s research interests are in the areas of natural resources, climate change, food security, energy, macroeconomic modeling, and agricultural policy. He has published several papers in recent years in SCI/SSCI journal including those in Nature, Nature Plant, Global Food Security, Applied Energy, Risk Analysis, China Agricultural Economic Review and International Journal of Agriculture and Biology.
His current research focuses on developing and using economic models to analyze and quantify economic and sustainability consequences of extreme climate events, Belt and Road Initiative and virtual water/land flows. He is a key researcher in several research projects involving national and international research teams in China and abroad. He received his Ph.D. degree in Agricultural Economics and Management from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2012.
