Professor of Environmental Toxicology, Heriot-Watt University

Ted Henry is a Professor of Environmental Toxicology in the Centre for Marine Biodiversity and Biotechnology; Institute of Life and Earth Sciences in the School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure, and Society, at Heriot-Watt University (HWU, Edinburgh, Scotland); and Adjunct Professor in the Center for Environmental Biotechnology, and Center for Wildlife Health in the Department of Forestry Wildlife and Fisheries at The University of Tennessee (UT, Knoxville, TN, USA). Ted directs the Ecotoxicology and Pathophysiology of Aquatic Organisms research program at HWU.

Ted also leads the EGIS Self Assessment team (EGIS SAT) for the Athena SWAN program, recognizing commitment to advancing women’s careers in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM) employment in higher education. Understanding and addressing issues of gender bias within STEMM is a priority and active area of research within his group (see Gender in STEMM).
