Terence Heng is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Liverpool. He is the author of three books - Visual Methods in the Field: Photography for the Social Sciences (2016), Of Gods, Gifts and Ghosts: Spiritual Places in Urban Spaces (2020) and Diasporas, Weddings and the Trajectories of Ethnicity (2020). His research interests include sacred spaces, visual methods and the sociology of death, spirituality and religion. He is currently co-editing a multidisciplinary book on Chinese death practices in Singapore, due out in 2024.
