Teresa Sandra Perez

I am a Research Fellow at Royal Holloway, University of London. I am currently part of a team looking at the combined impact of COVID-19 and race discrimination on children, young people and parents across the UK. This builds on my prior career as a secondary school teacher in London and research in South Africa.

I focus broadly on tackling contemporary global problems, with an emphasis on how these are experienced by marginalised people in their everyday life. My projects have involved helping people in semi-arid regions adapt to climate change and helping township residents reduce plastic pollution in Cape Town. I work in collaboration with community based organisations, policy action groups and environmental pressure groups.
