Thaddeus R. Miller

Associate Professor, School for the Future of Innovation in Society and The Polytechnic School; Co-Director Center for Smart Cities and Regions, Arizona State University

Thaddeus Miller is co-director of the Center for Smart Cities and Regions and an assistant professor at the School for the Future of Innovation in Society and The Polytechnic School at Arizona State University. His research examines how different cities shape policies and infrastructures to respond to emerging challenges. He works with practitioners and interdisciplinary researchers to advance the ability of cities to utilize science and technology to advance urban sustainability and resilience. He is on the Executive Management Team for the National Science Foundation funded Urban Resilience to Extremes Sustainability Research Network, and co-PI of the NSF-funded STIR Cities project. His most recent book, Reconstructing Sustainability Science: Knowledge and Action for a Sustainable Future, examines how scientists can to link knowledge to social action.
