Tim Bonyhady is a cultural historian and environmental lawyer at the Australian National University, whose interest in Afghanistan was sparked by Afghan war rugs. In 2003, with his colleague Nigel Lendon, he curated an exhibition of war rugs at the ANU's School of Art Gallery. I Weave What I Have Seen: The War Rugs of Afghanistan, a new exhibition curated by Tim and Nigel, is now on show at the ANU's Drill Hall Gallery. Tim’s new book, Two Afternoons in the Kabul Stadium: A History of Afghanistan through Clothes, Carpets and the Camera will be published by Text at the start of August.
