Adjunct Professor Faculty of Law, Queensland University of Technology

Professor Tom Cochrane is Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Law at the Queensland University of Technology. The position heads a Division which combines the services of the Libraries, Information Technology Services, eLearning Services, Learning Environments and Technology Services and QUT Printing Services in the one structure. The organisation currently comprises approximately 480 equivalent full time staff and oversees an annual expenditure in excess of $60 million, to support a full range of information and technology services as well as learning and academic support for QUT's teaching and research activities.

In his current role, Professor Cochrane's external duties include Director, Australian Digital Alliance and Director, Queensland Cyber Infrastructure Foundation. He is also a member of the National Research Infrastructure Council and a member of the Publications Board of the CSIRO.

Professor Cochrane is a Director on the Board of bluebox, QUT's technology transfer and commercialisation company, and is co-leader of the Creative Commons project for which QUT is the institutional partner for Australia. This project, together with other open access initiatives locally based at QUT, signal a long standing commitment to access to knowledge, and to research output worldwide.
