Senior Lecturer in Nursing, Charles Sturt University

Tracy is a mental health nurse with a PhD in Psychology. Her doctorate involved adapting and implementing an emotional resilience program for adolescents in high schools, in collaboration with Aboriginal communities in rural NSW. Tracy has worked across health disciplines including Nursing, Medicine and Public Health at several universities.

She has a long history of working in rural health and previously worked as Program Leader (Education) at the Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health, (University of Newcastle). After completing her PhD, she was awarded a Post Doc Research Fellowship in Implementation Science in the Medical School at the University of Sydney. In this role she coordinated a range of translation studies in cancer care and mental health.

More recently, Tracy worked as Senior Research Fellow at the Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation (MCHRI) in the School of Public Health at Monash University. In this role, she coordinated a range of applied implementation and knowledge translation studies. Tracy has extensive experience at participatory and action research, with a focus on stakeholder engagement, knowledge translation, healthcare improvement, healthy ageing and emotional resilience.

Tracy is passionate about inter-professional education and, in the past, led the co-design, development and research of accredited PG units and workforce development programs on healthcare improvement, implementation science and leadership. She has a strong track- record in teaching and the development of innovative curriculum. This includes the development and evaluation of multi-disciplinary online spaced education, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCS), Webinars and accredited post- graduate units in a range of Master Programs.

Tracy’s experience at teaching in higher education and health settings has been augmented by her participation in the following programs:

Principles and Practice of Tertiary Teaching (University of Sydney, 2014)
Program for Education in the Health Professions (Harvard Macy Medical School, Boston, USA, 2011)
Over the past 3 years she has also been actively involved in facilitating two day workshops on Women in Leadership for Monash Partners (one of several Advanced Health Research Translation Centres recently accredited by the NHMRC). She has also facilitated annual 2 day Masterclasses on Implementation Science for Monash University.
