I am a sociologist with the University of Notre Dame's Center for the Study of Religion and Society and University of Texas at San Antonio's Department of Sociology. Prior appointments include Associate Professor at Maryville College and Research Assistant Professor at Georgetown University. I am author of several award-winning books on religion and society (Faithful Revolution; Parish and Place; American Parishes; Polarization in the US Catholic Church). My forthcoming book with University of California Press looks at ordinary Americans' abortion attitudes.
