Tyler Valiquette

PhD Candidate, Human Geography, UCL

Tyler Valiquette is a Ph.D. candidate in Human Geography at the University College London and a recipient of the SSHRC Doctoral Scholarship. Tyler has a master’s in political science from the University of Guelph. He is an expert on analyzing institutional responses to humanitarian crises, queer migration, and LGBTQI+ rights and has a decade of field experience in Brazil. Tyler has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and has contributed pieces to over a dozen media outlets.

Tyler has completed multiple high-level interviews with politicians in Latin America, including with President Jair Bolsonaro.

In addition, Tyler co-founded the successful NGO Future Majority. A political organizing group in Toronto, Canada. He has extensive experience working on advocacy campaigns in Canada.
