Ufo Okeke Uzodike

Honorary Research Professor, Durban University of Technology

Ufo Okeke-Uzodike is a political scientist with special interests in development issues particularly with respect to political economy and peace and conflict challenges. Currently, he is an Honorary Research Professor at the Durban University of Technology in South Africa.

After his foundational educational training in Nigeria, Okeke-Uzodike moved on to the United States for further studies at Wake Forest University (Bachelors), the University of South Carolina (Masters), and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (PhD). He is a former Head of the School of Politics; and Dean and Head, School of Social Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa where he created, setup, or resuscitated several named degree programs such as: Government, Business and Ethics; Conflict Transformation and Peace Studies; and Social Policy.

Okeke-Uzodike is the editor of Affrika: Journal of Politics, Economics and Society; and the new Journal of Conflict Transformation and Nation Building.

He is also the Executive Director of African Heritage Institution, one of Africa’s leading think tanks.
