Utathya Chattopadhyaya

Utathya Chattopadhyaya teaches the social and cultural history of South Asia with a focus on commodities, capital, and agrarian history. His work explores British colonialism in eastern Bengal and the political economy of intoxicant commodities in the nineteenth and twentieth century. He was awarded his PhD in history in 2018 from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
