Research Associate, University of Western Australia

Verena is originally from Austria where she obtained a Bachelor’s and Master's degree from the University of Innsbruck. She then completed a PhD at The Ohio State University where she studied the impacts of combined climate change stressors on coral physiology and biogeochemistry. Verena is now a postdoctoral research fellow at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies at the University of Western Australia. Her current research focuses on the resilience of tropical corals to warming and acidifying oceans using physiological and geochemical approaches.
