Victoria is a field linguist and an Austronesian comparativist, with expertise on theoretical syntax and historical linguistics. Her research has sought to address the prehistory and the evolution and change within the Austronesian language family. She earned a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2017 and is currently working on a project on the origin and initial dispersal of the Austronesian family.
