Victoria J Palmer

I am the inaugural Director of the ALIVE National Centre for Mental Health Research Translation
funded by a NHMRC special initiative in mental health. I trained in the Humanities and Arts in applied ethics and qualitative participatory design methods and I am Professor of Primary Care Mental Health and Co-Design in the Department of General Practice at the Universityof Melbourne. I established a Co-Design Living Labs program in 2017 with 2000+ member base of people with lived-experience of mental ill-health and emotional distress who take part in end to end research design to translation. I have published on prevention of dementia, co-design, mental health, narrative, recovery and ethics and obtained over $22M in grant funding in my 13 years research active career.
