Professor of Telecommunications and Internet Technologies, UNSW Sydney

Vijay Sivaraman is a Professor of Telecommunications at UNSW Sydney with deep expertise in Internet technologies. He invented new architectures for high-speed switching chipsets during his PhD at UCLA funded on a Fellowship from Bell Labs; worked as a network protocol engineer in an early-stage silicon-valley start-up designing optical switch-routers; has done extensive product architecture, development and operations of carrier-grade solutions for Telcos; and recently co-founded Canopus Networks that couples Programmable Networks technologies with Machine Learning to give Telcos deep insights into network traffic behaviour and user experience.
