Associate Professor of Business Law, TBS Education

Associate Professor of Business Law at TBS Business School (Toulouse Business School), W. Gregory Voss teaches on TBS’s Toulouse and Barcelona campuses. He is a member of TBS Business School's Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics Cluster and an associate member of IRDEIC (Research Institute in European, International and Comparative Law), a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence, Toulouse 1 Capitole University. Voss is also a member of the Board of Directors of the French Association of Legal Studies in Business (FALSB) (formerly known as the Association of Law Professors of Les Grandes Ecoles/Business Schools (APDGE)) and co-leads FALSB's International Committee.

Although not currently practicing, Voss is admitted as an attorney (New York), and was formerly admitted as an avocat (Toulouse - 2009-2017), and solicitor (England and Wales, not practicing). Prior to teaching, he worked in private practice and in industry. He was a Past Co-Chair of the American Bar Association Section of International Law (ABA SIL)’s Privacy, E-Commerce, and Data Security Committee, and was a Past Chair of their International Intellectual Property Rights Committee, as well.

Voss is an Editorial Board Member (a Staff Editor) of the American Business Law Journal, an ad hoc peer reviewer for other journals, a Fellow of the European Law Institute, member of numerous other scientific institutes and academies and professional organizations and has written and spoken in France, Spain, the Netherlands, Canada and the U.S. on European Union and American Law, primarily in the fields of fundamental rights (privacy and data protection), business and human rights, legal strategy, data security law, and e-commerce law. Examples of journals in which Voss has published, either individually or as a co-author, include the American Business Law Journal, The Business Lawyer, the University of Illinois Journal of Law, Technology & Policy, Colorado Technology Law Journal, Washington International Law Journal, Santa Clara High Technology Law Journal, Revue Française de Gestion, Revue Lamy Droit de l'Immatériel, and the Journal of Internet Law, among others. Furthermore, he co-authored with Katherine Woodcock, "Navigating EU Privacy and Data Protection Laws," a book published by ABA Publishing, and has also contributed as an author or co-author of chapters in several other books (for a more complete view, see the list of publications below, or click on the ORCID link in the right hand column of this page).

Voss holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School, a postgraduate degree in Law and Information Systems from the Toulouse 1 Capitole University, and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (specialization in International Economics, with a focus on International Commerce and Finance) from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.
