William Isdale is a postgraduate research student at the University of Queensland's T.C. Beirne School of Law.

He is currently researching and writing a thesis about compensation for native title rights and interests. He has undergraduate degrees in Law and Arts (politics, philosophy) from the University of Queensland. His research interests are in the law, moral philosophy and applied ethics.

He is a past President of the Australian Legal Philosophy Students' Association and former Editor of the Justice and the Law Society's journal, Pandora's Box. In early 2012 and 2014 he was a visiting student at Oxford University's Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics.
