Wisnu Prasetya Utomo

Wisnu Prasetya Utomo is a lecturer at the Department of Communication Science, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). He is also a researcher at Pemantau Regulasi dan Regulator Media (PR2Media), a research centre on media regulation and regulator based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Wisnu holds a master's degree in communication and media from the University of Leeds.

Currently, he is a PhD student at the School of Journalism, Media, and Communication, University of Sheffield, UK. His PhD project is centred around exploring the digital transformation of journalism in Indonesia and the responses of journalists to the challenges posed by democratic regression. His primary research interests encompass various aspects of journalism and media, including press freedom, political communication, misinformation, journalistic precarity, and labour movements.
