Research Associate, University of Strathclyde

I graduated with a BSc in Biomedical Engineering in 2008, followed by a MSc in Biology of Human Performance and Health in 2009. I completed my PhD at the University of Wollongong, Australia before joining the University of Strathclyde as a research associate in 2014.

My research interests include exploring patterns of sedentary behaviour and physical activity across childhood and adolescence and their influence on health outcomes (e.g. cardiometabolic health) and measurement of physical activity and sedentary behaviour in children and adolescents. My current fellowship program (Sitting in Teens; SITS) aims to increase the evidence base foundation for interventions aiming to decrease time spent sitting and increase breaks in sitting time in teenagers.

I am also part of the Gateshead Millennium Study research team. GMS is an important longitudinal study, examining changes in sitting time during childhood and adolescence, detrminants of sitting time and the association between changes in sitting time and adiposity.
