Yaseen is a lecturer at the Centre for Program Evaluation at the University of Melbourne.

Yaseen has conducted researches in Afghanistan and South Pacific, including Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu. Over the past 15 years, Yaseen has worked with USAID, Australian Aid, DFID and academia. He led the localisation research in South Pacific and the GTS's grand bargain commitments in Afghanistan. At the conclusion of displacement research in Afghanistan, he will be researching 10 local humanitarian networks in Asia, Middle East and Africa.
