Yasemin Gülsüm Acar

Lecturer in Psychology, University of Dundee

I am a social psychologist based at the University of Dundee. I am interested in social activism and identity constructs, political protest and its consequences, political solidarity, politicisation, social (ethnic, religious, political) identity, and intergroup relations/conflict.

I received my PhD from Claremont Graduate University in 2015, where I specialised in social identity and identity politicisation through collective action. I recently published a book with my colleague Özden Melis Uluğ entitled Bir olmadan biz olmak: Farklı gruplardan aktivistlerin gözüyle Gezi Direnişi [Becoming us without being one: The Gezi Resistance from the perspective of different activists]. Along with Özden Melis Uluğ and Sigrun Marie Moss, I have also co-edited a book entitled Researching peace, power, and conflict in the field: Methodological challenges and opportunities.
