Yousif Al-Daffaie

Dr. Yousif Al-Daffaie is a researcher in the field of cultural heritage and post-war countries. He has won multiple national and international awards for his contributions to the field. His research focuses on cultural heritage, post-war countries, memories, and societies’ reconciliation after trauma. Yousif aims to support the sustainable development of communities, particularly in post-war contexts. Before pursuing higher education, he worked in an architectural practice in Jordan. He holds a MA in Architecture and a PhD in Architecture, Design, and the Built Environment from Nottingham Trent University. During his PhD, he conducted research on the architecture of memory, cultural heritage, post-war countries, and architecture and place. Yousif's research areas include expertise in tangible and intangible heritage, with a focus on heritage interpretation and preservation. He also researches the impact of global events on heritage sites and communities. Yousif investigates the reconstruction and preservation of cultural memory in post-war contexts. Lastly, he explores the role of memory in architecture and the built environment.
