I joined Liverpool John Moores University in January 2015 as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Criminology. Prior to this I have held research and teaching posts at the universities of Durham, Stirling and Leicester and have taught criminology and political science at the Open University. Before moving to the UK I worked as a sociologist at the Russian Academy of Sciences. My research over the years have included policing and police reforms in post-Soviet states, restorative justice, counter-terrorism and organised crime.
I have a PhD in Criminology and an MA in Society and Politics and am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
