Yusuf Sayed is the South African Research Chair in Teacher Education, Research Professor in Education, and the Founding Director of the Centre for International Teacher Education (CITE), at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), South Africa. He is also a Professor of Iternational Education and Development Policy at the University of Sussex and a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER), Rhodes University, South Africa. Professor Sayed has previously served as Senior Policy Analyst at the EFA Global Monitoring Report, UNESCO in Paris and as Team Leader for Education and Skills within the Department for International Development (DFID), UK. Yusuf also taught at UWC in the 1990s, serving as Head of Department of Comparative Education. Prof Sayed has extensive expertise in education policy analysis and in teacher education.
