School blackboards a sight for sore eyes

Giving glasses to children who suffer from poor eyesight improves school grades, according to University of Oxford researchers.

The study, which was conducted in the Chinese province Gansu, found that only three percent of children who required glasses wore them.

After the children in the study were given free glasses, they were found to have gained the equivalent of a quarter to half a year of extra schooling.
