Small animals disperse cycad seeds

The large heavy seeds of a species of Australian tree rely upon smaller animals for clumped seed dispersal.

Researchers from the University of Queensland analysed cycad seed dispersal over a three-month period and found that small animals, such as possums, consumed fruit and dispersed seeds.
