Young men who take abstinence pledges struggle with sexuality after marriage

Young Christian men who take abstinence pledges struggle more with their sexuality after marriage, according to a study from the University of Washington.

Following 15 young Evangelical Christian men for a year in group and one-on-one interviews, researchers found that church groups initially provided a safe space for unmarried men to discuss sex.

After marriage the participants struggled to think about sex in positive terms. Many said they would welcome more frank discussion from their pastors.
