Jurors unclear over internet rules

Almost a quarter of UK jurors are unclear as to the legal level of internet use during a trial, according to preliminary research from University College London.

This includes 16% who believed they were excluded from the internet altogether, as opposed to a minority who believed they could actively search for information about their trial.

Researchers believe such evidence is essential to minimise cases of juror contempt in the new media age.
