Abe Miller-Rushing

Science Coordinator, Acadia National Park, National Park Service

I coordinate science in Acadia National Park and help to oversee 1 of the 17 research learning centers (nps.gov/rlc) in US national parks. I also work closely with the Schoodic Institute (SchoodicInstitute.org) to recruit researchers, translate research to management, and communicate science to the public.

A major goal of my work is to build a science program that connects science, education, and management and improves outcomes for all three areas. My own research focuses on how we can adjust conservation practices in light of climate change and how we can better engage the public in science through citizen science and community-driven science and by telling more compelling stories about science.
