Abrar Abdelsalam

Research Assistant in Biomedical Engineering, Dublin City University

A hardworking and reliable Biomedical Engineering Master’s student with a passion for active problem solving, engineering and technology in the healthcare industry.

My experiences range from the following;

•Clinical engineering, where I maintained medical equipment, performed troubleshooting and ensured patient safety.
•Featured on BEAI (Biomedical/Clinical Engineers Association of Ireland) for an article I wrote based on my experience as a clinical engineering intern in an acute hospital setting (2021).
•MEng project titled: ‘ A Proposed 3D Model and Print of a Kidney Phantom using various 3D Printing Techniques’. This project aimed to propose an optimised kidney phantom design and print for surgical planing procedures to propel further research in End-Stage-Kidney-Disease and Acute Kidney Injury (2022/23)

I am fuelled by deep passion for research and problem solving. Hence, I found immense satisfaction in completing my MEng Final Year Project as I was allowed to delve into complex challenges and attempt to uncover innovative solutions.
