Professor Adekeye Adebajo is a senior research fellow at the University of Pretoria’s (UP) Centre for the Advancement of Scholarship (CAS) in South Africa. He directed the Institute for Pan-African Thought and Conversation (IPATC) at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) for five years, and was executive director of the Centre for Conflict Resolution (CCR) in Cape Town between 2003 and 2016, both in South Africa. He is the author of nine books, including Building Peace in West Africa; UN Peacekeeping in Africa; The Curse of Berlin: Africa after the Cold War; and Global Africa: Profiles in Courage, Creativity, and Cruelty. He is co-editor and/or editor of ten books, including Africa and the United Nations; Africa’s Peacemakers; and The Pan-African Pantheon: Prophets, Poets, and Philosophers. Professor Adebajo served with United Nations missions in South Africa, Western Sahara, and Iraq, and holds a doctorate from Oxford University in England.
