Adrian Ashraf Khan

PhD Candidate, Geography and Social Planning, University of Toronto

I am currently pursuing a PhD in the Department of Geography and Planning at the University of Toronto and collaborative programs with the the Centre for South Asian Studies and The Centre for Diaspora and Transnational Studies. I graduated, cum laude, with a Master’s degree in Development Studies, and a diploma in Refugee and Migration Studies at York University. I have completed fieldwork in Canada, America, Guyana, France, India, Qatar, and Nepal predominantly in the field of child/youth rights within educational and community development contexts. My current SSHRC-funded research longitudinally expands on my SSHRC-funded MA research, by expanding research/working experiences throughout Nepal since 2010, to explore the emotional journeys of trans-Himalayan students' school-work and livelihood transitions within and outside of Nepal.
