I obtained my PhD in Hispanic Linguistics at the University of Western Ontario (Canada), where I researched the development of Catalan and Spanish grammar in early childhood. During my later postdoctoral fellowship at the Bilingual Acquisition Lab of Alberta (University of Alberta, Canada) I investigated the development of English and heritage language vocabulary, grammar, and narrative skills in various populations of newcomer children and youth. As an Assistant Professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain), my current research investigates how individuals' experiences influence the way social, foreign, and heritage languages are acquired by young learners.
