Dr Alexa Hayley is a Lecturer and researcher in Psychology at Deakin University, Faculty of Health, School of Psychology. Her research focuses on human-animal interactions, antisociality, stigmatised identities, and mental health/well-being.
Alexa completed her B.Arts (Hons.)(Phil.) at the University of Newcastle in 2008. She completed her B.Arts (Hons.)(Psych.) in 2011 and her Ph.D (Psych.) in 2018, both at Deakin University.
A passionate educator and researcher, Alexa is also an animal welfare and rights advocate, supporting her local animal shelter (Geelong Animal Welfare Society) as a Fundraising and Community Engagement Officer.
