Alexe Bernier is a PhD Candidate and Sessional Instructor in the School of Social Work at McMaster University. Alexe has her Bachelor of Science (2014) and Master of Social Work (2016) from the University of Calgary. Her research is related to and inspired by years of her community social work practice, specifically her work with girls in gender-specific community programs. Alexe's research interests thus fall within the areas of girlhood studies, community engagement, and arts-based methodologies.
