Alison Cooke earned her PhD in psychology from North Carolina State University in 2020. Broadly, she is interested in the development of emotion understanding and the various influences on this development throughout childhood and the lifespan. Her research focuses on understanding racial biases in the classroom through the lens of emotion recognition and the long-term impact of experienced racial biases on children's social and emotional outcomes.
