I work in health services research at Swansea University Medical School. Our team specialises in unscheduled and emergency care, and we also deal with initiatives in primary and community care to reduce unscheduled health care use, such as predictive risk modelling and chronic conditions management.
I am primarily a qualitative researcher and often collaborate on mixed methods studies, including those using anonymised linked datasets. I am particularly interested in organisational aspects of health care delivery, including decision making and attitudes to risk in healthcare interactions, implementation of technology, the role of data in commissioning, communication between service providers and patients, and the role of patients and the public in shaping service delivering and the research agenda. I also have research interests in health inequalities, disability, social care, ageing and geographies of health.
