A/Professor, paediatrician, infectious diseases physician and clinical pharmacologist, Murdoch Children's Research Institute

A/Prof Amanda Gwee is a clinician-scientist fellow and team leader in the MCRI Infectious diseases Group. She is a general paediatrician, infectious diseases physician and clinical pharmacologist at the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne and Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatrics, University of Melbourne. She received a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Melbourne in 2004; was awarded fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2012; and completed her PhD through the University of Melbourne in 2019. Amanda’s research focuses on optimising the dosing of anti-infective agents in children, an area of increasing importance in the current era of emerging antimicrobial resistance. Her other research priority is studying allergies to anti-infective drugs in children. She was the editor of the 9th edition of the Royal Children’s Hospital Paediatric handbook and is an editor for the Journal of Paediatrics and Child Health.
