Amparo Larrauri (MPharm, PhD) is a Scientific Researcher Epidemiologist at the National Center of Epidemiology of the Carlos III Health Institute, with more than 18 years of experience in the area of influenza and other immunopreventable diseases surveillance and research. She is the epidemiological coordinator of the Spanish Influenza Surveillance System and the National Contact Point of the European Center of Disease, Prevention and Control (ECDC) for the Respiratory Viral Diseases Program. Since 2016, she is the Head of the 32nd Research Group of the Cyber Epidemiology and Public Health (CIBERESP). Her research activity has focused on the study of the influenza disease burden and the effectiveness and impact of the influenza vaccine in the population. Since 2008, she has coordinated the Spanish component of the I-MOVE projects to measure influenza effectiveness and impact of vaccination programs at primary care level (I-MOVE, I-MOVE+) and at hospital level (I-MOVE+) in Spain and Europe. She is coordinating since 2020 the Spanish component of the Horizon2020 I-MOVE-COVID-19 project to strength the COVID-19 surveillance and the risk factor and vaccine effectiveness COVID-19 studies. She makes part of the National COVID vaccination technical Working Group and the COVID-19 vaccination effectiveness and impact monitoring group and she is a co-author of the National Vaccination Strategy. She is a reviewer for numerous scientific publications and is external expert for the European Medicines Agency.
