Adjunct Professor, Forest and Conservation Sciences, University of British Columbia

I am a practising small animal veterinarian and conservation biologist. I have been involved in conservation research for over 20 years through graduate studies and postdoctoral work. I am a strong adherent to the One Health approach to conservation, which focuses on the synergistic links between conservation, animal and human health. I focus on the impacts of domestic cats on wildlife because free-roaming is detrimental to feline welfare, wildlife welfare, conservation and public health, all of which are incredibly important to me and are my professional responsibility.
