Ana María Barbancho Perez

Profesora Titular de Universidad en el área de Teoría de la Señal y Comunicaciones, Universidad de Málaga

Dr. Ana María Barbancho Pérez was born in Málaga (Spain). She received her degree in Telecommunication Engineering and her PhD from the University of Malaga (UMA) in 2000 and 2006, respectively. In 2001, she also obtained the title of Professor of Solfeggio and Accompaniment from the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Málaga. She received the "Second National Prize for University Education 1999/2000" from the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science in 2000 and the "Extraordinary Doctorate Prize" from the E.T.S. Telecommunication Engineering of the University of Malaga in 2007.
Since 2000, she has been working in the Department of Communications Engineering at the University of Malaga, as Associate Professor (11/2000), Senior Lecturer (01/2003) and, currently, as Full Professor (06/2009). Her lines of research are: Musical Acoustics, Digital Signal Processing, New Methods of Education and Mobile Communications.
She is the author of nearly a hundred articles in international journals and communications at prestigious international and national conferences. She is also the author of nearly a dozen books and book chapters. She has participated in around twenty research and technology transfer projects, many of them related to advanced signal processing applied to musical audio signals. She is a reviewer for numerous international journals and conferences.
In 2011 she was awarded the Malaga prize for research by the Malaga Academy of Sciences and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Telmo, in the Science section.
He has participated in numerous Educational Innovation Projects, including two projects on the adaptation to the EHEA, funded by the UCUA, and a mention in the "Professor Constancio Mínguez" award for Educational Innovation in the 2006-07 academic year. From 2008 to 2020, he has been a member of the Territorial Governing Board of the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers, Eastern Andalusia and Melilla.
Regarding university management, since 2015 she has been Coordinator of Final Degree Projects in Telecommunication Systems Engineering at the ETSI of Telecommunication of the University of Malaga. From 2016 to February 2020 she has been Secretary of the Department of Communication Engineering.
