Assistant lecturer, Universidad de Oviedo

I graduated in Marine Biology and have an MSc in Marine and Coastal Studies from the Algarve University (Portugal). I carried out my predoctoral studies at the same University, obtaining my PhD in Geosciences in the speciality of Palaeontology in 2005.
After that, I have been a contract researcher in several national and international universities throughout my research career, developing several predoctoral and postdoctoral research stays. Currently, I hold a contract as Assistant Professor at the University of Oviedo (Spain) in Palaeontology.
My career has been built around a broad range of research subjects and techniques, but with a clear aim: to gain insight into ichnology on hardgrounds through the analysis of the existing geological record for the overall comprehension of past hard substrate biotas. My main research field concerns the palaeoichnological study of Cenozoic hard substrates and their taphonomy and palaeoecology.
