Andrea Kleinsmith

Postdoctoral Associate, University of Florida

Andrea is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Virtual Experiences Research Group at the University of Florida where she investigates the use of virtual humans for training medical students' empathy, communication and diagnostic skills.

Her primary research interests are affective human computer interaction, virtual humans and automatic affect recognition systems with a focus on nonverbal communication.

Dr Kleinsmith received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Oregon, USA. She received a Masters in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Aizu in Japan and then moved to London where she received a PhD in Computer Science from University College London in 2010. Her Masters and PhD research was in the area of Affective Computing.
