I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Studies at Queen’s University and Early Researcher Award recipient from the Government of Ontario’s Ministry of Research and Innovation for my work on security and governance challenges in mineral resource sectors. I have published more than 60 refereed scholarly papers and more than 20 policy papers, briefs, and op-eds based on fieldwork conducted across Canada, Africa, and other parts of the world. I have also advised Canadian, American, British, and Sierra Leonean government policy-makers on how to prevent conflict in mining areas.
