Chair, Department of Biomedical and Health Sciences, Swinburne University of Technology

Andrew Wood is a Research Director with the Australian Centre for Radiofrequency Bioeffects Research. He also leads the Cellular Neuroscience group, with its associated Bioelectromagnetics Laboratory in the Brain Sciences Institute at Swinburne University of Technology. He has had over 20 years experience in researching the effects of electromagnetic fields on tissue. He currently chairs the Working Group at the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency with the task of developing a human exposure standard for electric and magnetic fields (EMF).

His research interests are: the investigation of possible health effects associated with non-ionising radiation, calcium signalling in brain cells, blood-brain barrier permeability and mathematical modelling of radiofrequency absorption in biological tissue.
